Another one that was meant to be a quick exercise but wound up taking much longer. Not complaining mind you, I do like how it turned out. Now to see which of the 10 things I’ve started I want to finish next.
Working loose like this is just super relaxing. Putting a version of this piece before I added lighting stuff. I was planning on going for a more yellow palette as you can tell and I could still go either way honestly.
It’s not often that I work in this no-line, no-gradients, no-effects style. I rarely do it and it kinda tends to be more work than my usual fare because of it but I definitely like the look of it.
This is the conversation in my head when I’m laying out something like this: – Hey, it’s gonna be a lot of work to tighten and color this.– Alright, but what about more cables and stuff? Then I hate myself until I finish it.
Been trying to slowly dip my toes into non-cel shading, uh, shading. Really happy with how this turned in that sense. Would love to do some more painterly stuff in the future but that’s very much a work in progress at this point.
